383 throttle linkage problem

I had a local mechanic put a Holley 650 carb and a Weiand intake on my 383, and he apparently rigged the throttle linkage to where the transmission hesitates to shift. I was hoping someone could look at this set up and tell me what I need to change or what parts I might need. Thank you.

OK, that's jury rigged fer sure, and a lot of us did stuff like that in the past.

While you can tweak that to work, the best bet is to go with an after market linkage from Lokar, Holley or Edelbrock.

Happily, I'm using a manual valve body and don't have to worry about such things ...

Just for starters the linkage needs to move. Not sure, but you may need a different bracket that holds the linkage to the manifold. This should give you and idea of what you will need. Best bet is look at as many pictures of similar set-ups.
I am guessing the guy that did this was not familiar with Mopars.

That guy was a dummy. Your kick down linkage goes on the opposite side of the throttle linkage between the big nut and washer. Held on by the other clip.
