Guys I'm in serious need of either a 340 or 318 engine block. Mine is bored 40 over, but two head bolt holes have cracked, and possibly cracked into the corresponding cylinders but can't visually confirm. So... I need a block. I have mild performance parts in my current engine that I will be swapping. Everything on/in is mild performance that I will be installing in the new block, but I can't find a 318 or even a 340 that's in reliable shape for cheapish. I live near Austin, TX. Anyone know of business' near or around there (talking several hours drive or so away) that deal with blocks, or any company that deal with just the engine block that can ship? I don't need anything else in it. Just the block. Thank you for ANY help!!

 

Should be a core supplier near you somewhere? I'm sure not all the engine builders have one?
If not check E-Bay or Craigslist?

 

I can't believe a 318 block is so hard to find but make sure you put it in craigslist wanted for sure. Are the pistons +40 318?
