Hi I am about to buy a TA Block the date code is 11-26-69
Now what month did they put those blocks in a TA or AAR. My
TA Challenger was built in April would it work or should I find an engine dated in Jan,Feb or March. Thanks

 

It's not original to the car, date is close so it probably doesn't matter. The TA specific block will be hard to find

 

This is a TA block and yes it was hard to find it has vin numbers on it my ? Is did they put a 4 month old block in a April car? thanks

Then why do you care about what numbers may or may not match?

 

Being a limited run & short production I bet the 3 month average is out , I would guess they cast 6000 blocks almost in one batch once the decision was made to build them at all , they knew they were building 2500 ish of the T/A & AAR to meet sanction rules & there would be some spares for warranty or flawed castings .
Roughly a large plant like St Louis or Hamtramk built 250,000 cars / year given 350,000 ish serial #s & approx 240 working days they would need over 1000 blocks / day so 6000 T/A blocks would be approx 1 weeks production for 1 plant
