3RD GEN Hemi oil pump

Hi guys, i know that the 2009 up oil pump are thicker and flow about 22% more oil compared to the older ones (2003-2008), the also have larger inlet pick up hole so a newer style pick up is needed too but do you know if these fit a 2003 block? Thank you.

I believe the 2009 and newer blocks have a deeper front casting and a crankshaft modification to accommodate the later/thicker oil pump.

Just use a better oil, Joe Gibbs or Amsoil.........

What's wrong with this?

Seems a quality product, harder optional springs are an extra

Looks like that the 6.1's oil pump has same dimensions of the 5.7's but with a different spring in it so it should be an high pressure model, any real life experience?

As is done with any good build, blend any sharp edges out of the feed side of the pump and block. Even if it is new, check the pump for internal clearances or scratches. Get rid of the factory TTY bolts and buy ARP fasteners. Toss the connecting rods in a bin.

I will, thank you for the advice, i've seen pretty bad casting flashes into the drain holes too, but i definitely grind the sharp edges where oil is flowing into, did the same thing in a couple of SBC rebuild.
A little O/T but non too much, i'm reading an Hemi rebuild book so they say to upgrade the early 3rd gen engine with the newer style 2 holes main bearing , by making and additional groove and little recessed hole onto the block mains to improve lubrication, basicly just copy the main bearing style, is it really worth the effort?
Thank you

Any oiling improvements are worth the additional effort!
