408 stroker build

I'm looking to install a 408 small block in my 73 Dart 340 sport. The car currently has a 318 block with 360 heads in it with what appears to be a cast crank. So the question is, can I start with this block? Or do I need to get a 340 or 360 block? What's the difference? I also see that Jeg's offers a 408 short block for about $3500. Anybody have any experience with those ATK engines?
Thanks,
Bill

You will be money ahead if you just pick up a 408 LONG BLOCK from Blueprint Motors or someone like that...
Just my 2 cents

Your welcome.... I just think your money ahead by the time you do all the checking, Magging, Decking. Boring, Alignment Boring, and what knots.
Other than that I have no objections of just ragging something together.

Keep us posted...
