440 questions??
Hey.
looking to drop a 440 n auto tylranny in my rat rod project. I think I'm initially gonna get a running engine outstanding Rv. I'm finding em still in the Rv and running for 6-1500 and ranging from 1972-1976.
I know these aren't the powerhouses they have potential to be but I'm looking for more initial mockup n running than horsepower at first as this is a frame up build.
what kind of horse n tourque numbers am I looking at? Any bads to my thinking? I could always juice it with a 125 shot of nitrous till I rebuild it.lol
Thanks for any help. RR.
p.s. I'm in southern Ohio if anyone has leads to one for sale.

I don't believe they were reverse cooled but the water pump DID mount up on the front of the heads, some people call these a "high mount" pump. Also some of the big truck / heavy motorhome setups had coolant flowing through what is normally the heat crossover ports.
Here is one, probably a 413. Notice the coolant temp sender in the middle of the exhaust

This water pump mounts to the front of the heads making it a "high mount"
