89 ramcharger fuel issues
89 ramcharger fuel issues
Hi everyone this is my first post here and my first time owning my own dodge! I just bought a 1989 ramcharger with the 318 in it. It's been sitting in my buddy's backyard for 10 years it only has 97,000 miles on it with hardly any rust and not a single rip in the interior. I cleaned everything out the best I could and I put some gas down the throttle body and it started right up but it's only running off the gas I pour into the throttle body. The fuel pump isn't running when I turn the key I've checked the relay and I looked for any cut wires and any fusible links but that's about everywhere I know to look right now. If anyone could tell me how to jump my fuel pump or anywhere else to look to see if it's a faulty pump or bad wiring somewhere I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance

i would check if pump is actually getting the 12v first , then if not move to its fuse and see if it's getting power from the fuse box/wiring.
Consider also that fuel tank in old vehicles has rust than can cause problem to the pump and fuel system too.

Thank you jeepers creepers! I have the fuel figured out now she starts right up and runs on her own😁. She sat for a long time I had to pull her from her grave. The tires on the rear axle won't spin. I'm not sure if the front tires are spinning either I haven't looked at them much. I had it in neutral and jacked up. I'm gonna take the tires off and see if the brake are seized up is there a certain way I should go about this to not damage anything?

About the brakes, make sure there are no leaks, rubber hoses tend to crack overtime, I would have them checked very well, as well the brake cylinder and calipers , check for rust on the steel brake line too
