Can someone tell me what this is? Some type of module?
Working to get this 1970 Chrysler 383 running. We have fire to the points, but it still won't hit. Found this random module/regulator that was all chewed up, but we can't figure out what it is. Any ideas?

That is an electronic distributor vacuum advance delay.... Its for emission control.... You can replace it with another one... Just hide the connector way....
