heater hose adapter question
heater hose adapter question
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section.
Would running a 1/4 NPT male to 3/8 NPT female adapter with the intention of using a 3/8 NPT male to 5/8 hose barb restrict flow and create problems on the heater hose from heater core to intake manifold?
I ask because my intake manifold real estate is all used up. I have an Edelbrock Air Gap for the Magnum series 360 on my car. It seems to have 2 1/4 in NPT and 1 3/8 NPT port. I need to set up my heater hose as well as run a temp sender for my EFI set up- both have their hands up for the 3/8 provision. I thought about using a Tee but I'm afraid that will not yield accurate results on the temp sender to the EFI. I can't drill and tap one of the smaller holes either. Anyone knowledgeable about this? Anyone run into a similar issue and have a different solution?

IF your going to restick the heater flow that much... Mite as we not use it and get an electric heater for inside the car....
But if you are in need if another 3/8 hole..... Check for a new thermostat housing with that size hole that you need...
But no... I would not bother bushing a heater hose for 1/8-1/4 up to 5/8.... Waist of effort...

I don't think there are any t stat spacers for the magnum style intake unfortunately
Thanks for that! I appreciate the second opinion. Makes me confident in this direction. I picked up a fitting today.
