horsepower rating

can anyone possibly tell me how much horsepower a stock bottom end on a 440 will handle? I have a 77 440 from a motorhome or possibly a truck and im thinking about the possibility of a procharger in the future because of the low compression that it has. just curius as to what kind of power i could make before the need to buy an aftermarket crank, rods, ect...thanks in advance

my idea is that the stock cast pistons are the week spot. the car 440 went to cast crank in the early 70s if i remember right. but iam not sure about truck or motorhome.

I know that the 440 motors of the mid-late 70 were rated for low HP. I am unsure though if Chrysler also lowered the quality of the bottom end parts.

A lot of what the bottom end can handle will be dependent on what size charger you put on it.

I dont think I have ever seem a solid answer to that question...
But I would Guess 475hp with some dependability.
Boosted I would think you could get away with 6-8 LBS of Boost.
Just my 2 cents
