Should I match the carburetor to the intake by casting#
I am looking to put the correct carburetor on an intake manifold I bought. I was hoping someone could tell me if I should be looking for a specific carburetor? The manifold is off a 340 and going on my 72 318. Stock cam with hei ignition (if I can ever figure out the wiring) and headers Thanks for the advice in advance
Carter or a Holley 4150 should bolt on without any issues....
Wiring... Check over at MyMopar.com >>> look in the resources >>>>> Pull up the wiring you need....

Good Luck.... Cheers.... Keep us posted....
thank you sir there are hundreds of videos and diagrams to wire the GM hei upgrade but I bought before researching and am installing an hei distributor with an external coil and am having a hard time figuring it out. I wanted to make sure I had it running before I took the intake off and installed the 4 bbl
If that is the case: All you need is a switched ignition source to the BAT on the cap.... And if your using the tach, Hook your tach signal wire to the TACH on the cap. Then you are ready to run...

I bought these to replace the electronic ignition I had in my 72 and I am just trying to make them work
The Distributor looks like one from "A-Team"?
The coil I dont know what kind...Looks like a Ford spin off?
What Box are you going to use?
box!! What box? Nobody said I needed a box. I bought these off eBay and am hating them trying to replace the old electronic ignition with this but I should have bought differently.

I spent some time today messing with it I have spark when I wired the coil directly to the battery but it doesn’t even try to start and the whole distributor wobbles when I crank it over. There is a reason it was only 55 dollars im not impressed at all the cap doesn’t even seem to fit tightly
Are you sure you have the Distributor Seated all the way down in the pocket hold? If so, then I would check to see if the shaft is bent, Also now check under the cap and make sure nothing has been damaged?
