no idea how it is tied in properly. very green when looking at v8's

this is a 62 international travelette truck someone swaped this into almost 40yrs ago

If it's going from the carb throttle linkage to an ear (lever) on the automatic transmission, it's the "kick-down" linkage that gives you the passing gear. BUT it also regulates the pressures in the transmission, don't drive the car with out it (unless you go to a manual valve body of course ).

See if this helps, if not, take it to a transmission shop.

The carb end is hooked up. The other end of the cable goes to the kickdown lever on the transmission.
Take the car out and cruise at highway speed.
Press the accelerator pedal (safely), if you drop into second (passing) gear and accelerate, it's hooked up correctly.

You can google 727 kickdown linkage for pictures.

The way I’ve done it in the past is at wide open throttle the arm in the transmission should be all the way back, the rod should be pushing the lever on the transmission to its fullest, the length adjustment is on the transmission end of the rod..

On the carb there should be a hole for a cotter pin for a washer.

If this dont help... Take a few more photos and will get you in the rite direction.... Cheers
And just to support what was already said. Dont drive it with out the T.V. Linkage. It will burn up the clutches inside the transmission.
