Will the Engine light come on?
Will the Engine light come on?
Ok I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 318 ' my question is is there any way possible to remove my catolatic converter off of my truck without messing up my emisinins and not turn on my check engine light comeing on or not messing any thing up let me know if u have any solutions?
Where theres a will theres a way...What state are you in???...And what are your emmission laws????...Does your truck have for O2 sensors??? Does it have a down stream O2 sensor???? There are ways to keep the light off but if the probe the exhaust on inspection in your state it wont pass...Bill
IM not sure on your dodge but a trick we would use when replacing the manifold/cat combo on the e36 BWM,s was to extend the o2 sensor bung so that it pulled the o2 senor up out of the exhaust flow path. This would result in the sensor being exposed to less exhaust gas and in most cases we could run new headers without the CEL being triggered.
There are ways to do it, but they will not conform to emissions laws in most states. I'd say just leave it in there and work around it to keep yourself from having problems down the road.
