A727 340 Damper

My 72 charger 340 has the inscription 'use with 340 cast crank' on the front damper. Years ago I had Chrysler replace my transmission. Now I wish I had the original back, but now I would like to put the correct model with the closest date code I can find. Could I get some help on this. I think it would be either the 3515843 or the 3681952. My car was built at Flint on June 01, 1972. It has the rally package. From what I can find on-line it looks like the 3515843 was for early 72 8-340 w/o weight provision, and the 3681052 was 72 8-340 w/damper weight provisions. Does this matter and is the fact my 340 has the cast crank indicate I should go for the damper weight provision 3681052. Does this refer to the torque converter or the trans itself?

Depends on the crank used. Let look at the casting number on the crank and go from their.

the 340 damper note ONLY refers to the engine balance factor Not the trans. Trans should be fine with the different #s Maybe a different converter
