Hemi 4 speed

Just blew up my 18 spline A833. Any suggestions on where to go from here? 4000#, 650HP, drag radials, and driving it like I stole it. I know a guy with an NOS 72 A body 18 spline gear box, never installed. The price is right, but I'm afraid I'll blow this up too.

I would avoid Keisler like the plague but Passon may have a good solution for you

the Tremec tranny shift poorly & barely hold up to the power rating , the new passon 4 or 5 spd is far stronger

I spoke to Jamie, he said I've surpassed the limits of the Hemi gearbox. I also spoke to David Dudek who agreed. I was going to order a RS600 from Kiesler. Now I'm nervous about that. If the A855 was going to be available soon I would go with that. Psyco, what has your experience been with Keisler?

First the A body 833 is different , the internals can be used but the talishaft length & housing is different
Keisler is the worst to deal with http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/in...6896#msg816896
horrible customer service , incomplete kits , lies about delivery times . on top of that if you shift the tremec hard first it is notchy not fast & smooth & second the syncro rings will fail . one that Keisler send leaked , when checked closely they had machined through the case ... no problem ship it back at your cost & we will replace the case 3500 miles + ship it internationally at our cost LOL . Classic performance / Tony Edler does the same conversion kits & is far better to deal with if you go that route
Yyou may want to look at the Viper T56 magnum trans

I know the transmissions differ by body style, but my tailshaft housing will bolt on. Its not strong enough anyway. Viper trans...interesting. Are you aware of anyone doing this swap before?

yes the tailhousing bolts on the 833 but you also need the longer tailshaft which will swap also if not damaged .
there are numerous people doing T56 swaps , it is not floor friendly but very doable http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/in...?topic=70418.0
