Messed up Part Numbers

I was wondering if anyone can explain this.I have a 1971 charger I am converting to disc brakes. I got steering knucles off a 1972. The part numbers that are 2535692 and 2535693. The correct part numbers should be 2535694 and 2535695. These are the correct part numbers for 70,71,and 72 steering knuckles. I dont believe these are casting numbers

When they built the car... They could have used old stock? Or the car may have has some kind of damage and whom ever fixed it got some wrecking yard parts to repair that car?
Just food for thought...
Hope the conversion goes ok...

Cheers
