Rack n Pinion Steering for D-100

I have a 1977 D-100 that Iam building for Prostreet and some drag racing.i want to install a Manual rack n Pinion steering in place of the stock steering box. anyone out there done this before?

I've heard baout people swapping in a power rack & pinion but never a manual.

Horse power saveings

I figure by going manual I dont have to mess with brackets for the pump and loss of Horse power.

I dont see any problems, I was just looknig to see if any one out there has done a install like this.
