I am stumped with my 85 Ramcharger

I have an 85 ramcharger that was having a problem charging. Well I got that fixed and everything was good for a few months. I parked the truck for about a month and a half and then went out to start it. Would not turn over, no clicking, no lights or horn. Everything pointed to the battery. I charged the battery and still nothing. I put another battery in and nothing still. I went back and started trying to find the problem. If I open the start relay it will turn over. Anyone have an idea where the problem could be? Help please

Can you explain "open the start relay".

The ignition/start relay is in a metal case. If you bend back the tabs you can open it. There is a contact in there that you can depress. If you depress it the starter turns over but the lights and all still will not come on. It is a very strange problem that I am having a hard time figuring out. The bad thing is it is probably something very simple but I just have no idea right now.

Looked at my wirimg diagram and red fusible link that feeds all power to the ignition switch looks like a good place to start. I don't know were it is located. It shows a connector on the left side of the steering column and is not:

black/red: a/c,heater
yellow : start relay coil
black : fuse 4,5,6.
dark blue: fuse 11,12.
pink : charging
grey/black: splice ?

RED : 12V feed to ignition switch.

Yep, sounds like the main feed fusible link bought it.
