WHAT IS THE BEST AND WHAT IS JUNK
Hello im new to the charger forum and a pround new 68' charger owner. This is the first post i've dont and havent had a minute yet to look at other threads. I will be doing my homework looking at other threads in the mean time but wanted to post my question at the same time. .
I'm looking to replace some body panels on my 68' but want some feedback on what people have liked and disliked as far as quality and fit.I've come across different gauges in frame rails already and can only imagin ordering a fender and it being stamped to short.
so please let me know what you like and would use on your car and what you would run away from.
Thanks everyone and glad to be a new charger owner / member

autometaldirect.com There products fit the first time guaranteed.
Rule one to forums. Typing in all caps means your shouting and is frowned upon.
The different frame rail thicknesses are for different types of cars. A 4 door hardtop has the thickest rocker panel, a 2 door hardtop R/T has the second thickest to handle the engine loads. 2 door post or hardtop non/Rt are just a little thicker than the 4 door post. Guage thickness to give you example.
4dr ht - 14-16
2dr R/T ht- 16
2dr ht -18
4dr sedan - 22
same goes for the frame rails on the b bodys. C bodys only the rocker panel thickness changes.
Hemi cars had extra bracing for the frame rail to rocker panel same as the convertable.

What would I expect to see for frame rail gauge. Im seeing alot of the same items at different prices and different discriptions from the sale dealer. I can only assume the different panels are from different producers. Some say good replacement others say oe gauge.

I used some AMD panels on a 68 Valiant that I had. They fit like a glove. I had to do no extra cutting or grinding of warping to make them fit.
If you live in New England, there is a dealer of AMD parts right in Conn. - http://www.autobodyspecialt.com/cgi-...i?display=home - You can either order from them or pick it up right at their shop. Very helpful folks.

AMD makes some great stuff, but nobody is perfect. There will always be some hammer and dolly work, some bending, some massaging....
AMD is light years better than nothing.
