/6 to 318 swap HELP

Hey everyone,I got a question for all of you, I have a 83 d150 with a slant six but unfortunately due to my own stupidity I blew a hole in a piston, oops... but anyways I’m thinking about taking out the slant six and swapping a LA 318, my question is what all will I need to do this, I want to know what parts I will need and what all will need to be changed, such as mounts and certain things like that. I don’t want anyone to tell me what I “should” or “shouldnt” do, I want to know what I need for the swap and how to go about doing it, also I don’t want to spend a arms and a leg either I just want it to run, I can take care of the motor after that. please don’t give me vague information either, any help is good help though, but anyways thanks.

Awful demanding for a first post, you might try a more pleasant pòst and I'm sure that people will help.
I mean if you're going to tell us how to post I will post the same.
there is a lot of knowledge on the forum and willingness to help.*

sorry if it came off that way but I’ve noticed that a lot of guys will more or less tell someone what they should do instead of really answering or helping them, if that makes sense, I just want to know what I need to do the swap not what people think I should do, like often times I see guys reply to these kinds of*questions saying “you should just get a 360 it’ll cost the same and make more power” or something to that extent, I know I came off a bit harsh but I just want answers not opinions.

Well your going to need your. 318 and transmission if automatic, flywheel bell housing clutch if manual trans, motor mounts and brackets
and radiator.

If replacing automatic transmission, if you don't replace with same transmission, 904 or 727 you will need a drive shaft.

The difference in length between the 904 or 999 and the 727 would be the reason for the drive shaft. So you could avoid that by using the same transmission for the 318 that the six has, the 318 will not bolt to the /6 transmission.
The rear axle will be fine.
good luck, in your search

What you need is a complete truck to swap everything over from.. Something crashed will work more than likely. That will give you everything you need to do the swap.... Good Luck... Keep us posted on the build...
