First Solo Build, 360 73' Duster

Hello, Just joined the Mopar forum today. Hoping to get some good input on my first Solo build.
Ill get right to it here.
over the past year iv been building my first street/strip car. The engine i have built for it is a
78' 360 bored .30 over. Stock crank and rods. Speed Pro Hypereutectic Flat Top Pistons w/ Moly Rings
I have 302 swirl port heads I gasket matched and did mild port work too (still has 1.78 intake valves though :/) I Have an Edelbrock RPM Air gap intake with a Summit S/S 750 vacuum sec. carb. 2" spacer.
Cam I went with a Comp 268 XE Hydro flat tap.
Factory adjustable rocker arms with 901-16 Springs.
MSD 6A Ignition box and 8.5 super conductor wires. Factory distributor for now..
Summit Racing 1-5/8s headers.

Everything else is pretty much stock.. As for a little detail on the car and drive train.. I have a 3" aluminum radiator, flex fan, upgraded to disc brakes, 8.25 rear end w/ 4.10 gears. ( i know i need 8.75, that will come with more $$$$) Transmission is a new 904 built for 450 HP, 2400 stall.

Like I said iv only been building this car for about a year... it has come a LONG ways but still has alot further to go yet..
this is my first solo build i havnt had much help or input other than reading mopar books and magazines... so i thought i would share what i have with some gear heads on the inner web see what kinda input i get.. Im sure ill get ripped apart by someone but hey thats what i asked for i guess..

What do you think so far? Good set up for a Street/Strip car? What kinda HP do you guesstimate this motor is putting out? BTW using a couple diff. Compression Ratio calculators iv come up with 11.15:1 compression..? sound right for this set up?

Thanks for reading, look forward to chatting with any and all who are interested in helping a fellow gear head out!!

Welcome to the forum,
I have to ask if this as the cam you have?
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...rand/comp-cams

Comps site wasn't working so I had to go to Summit.

I;m not going to touch on the CR because I have no idea how you came up with it but the rest of the combination seems to have a balance to it. I'd guess around 350 hp, it could probably stand a little more cam ( I've had more cam in stockish 289 fords ) but it will work, I think the carb is a copy of a ford carb that some of them like I always went holley but that's me. It looks like you've thought it thru, should be fun.

Hello

Get a better distributor! Something you can lock in the total mechanical advance with.

Im hoping after this summer (winter 2017) to pull it out and make it a stroker.
the Cam wasent really my choice (although i probably would have used it anyway) it actually cam with the block when i bought it, it seems to do the trick for now.
as for the CR... Im not going to say its right by any means.. I used a couple different calculators online, one being summit racing's. I used these specs and 11.15:1 is what they all came up with..
Bore 4.070
Stroke 3.58
Cylinder head volume 60cc (not my messurent just what i found searching my years 302 heads, some said 59cc.. most said 60-62cc)
piston dome according to Speed pros site for the pistons i bought is -10
Deck clearance .077
Head gasket Felpro .046

those specs are what got me 11:1 Honeslty i think its a bit much... but idk, ill take it.

So I just ordered an MSD pro billet distributor, it does not have vacuum advance though. Im still learning the art of ignition timing and getting it all dialed in for best performance, but after doing some reading.. should I have gotten one with mechanical and vac adv?
Any suggestions for dialing in my timing given my engine specs mentioned in previous posts?
Aaaannnnd.. one more Q.. Wiring in the MSD ignition box I believe it said I do not need to use a ballast resistor when going from MSD box to the Blaster 2 coil?? is this correct?
Thanks guys! sorry for so many Q's in one post!
