1970 D150 360ci old gas.
Hey! I put a 79 360ci in my project 79 D150 short widebox (formerly a 318ci). Medium size Edelbrock 4 barrel and headers with a rebuild 727 TF with a B&M stage 2 shift kit) in it. I rarely drive it because it is a one legger and spins the tire too easily and I barely drive it. Once this summer to be exact because the motor seemed unhappy and stalled a few times on a drive through the neighborhood. But I do want to drive it and since the motor ran pretty well last year I am pretty sure it is bad gas. I read that putting new gas in will help but since I haven't really driven it in a year (More than a few miles) Would higher octane gas help? I am guessing it has about half a tank of over a year old gas. Draining the tank is not really possible because due to covid I am on a very limited budget and don't want to buy a pump I will only use once. Side note. It has a 9 1/4 inch rear end one legger and I can't find a Posi here in my city that I am certain will fit. Any help on anything not so old maybe an 8 3/4 posi would be helpful.

Siphon as much of the fuel out as possible and refill with new gas and a can of SeaFoam and see if it comes around? Of not then you may find you need to open up the carb and clean it out from letting it sit to long..

If draining the tank is not an option I would use isopropyl alcohol in the tank. Putting more gass in the tank will only extend the problem, and better gas will not help.
On vehicles that are not driven for long periods, a month or more, regular unleaded should be used. E10 will draw water from the air and condense in the fuel tank. Products like Stabile would help also.
I would drain the tank and flush the lines along with new fuel filters.
