1978 D100 Acceleration Problems
Hello!
I recently bought a 78 dodge d100 that drove fine during the test drive. I noticed the carb was flooding so I changed the carberator to a remanufacted Carter brand. Since then the truck will not take gas and loses power as you accelerate. The catalytic converter and emissions mess has been deleted. Carb test well using vaccum gauge. I'm stumped. Anyone know what I'm missing here? It's the orginal 318 motor. The oil and plugs have been changed as well.

A classic sign of not taking fuel and loss of power is the "Fuel filter". You didn't mention that it was changed. Secondly, if that doesn't work check to see you have fuel pump pressure of at least 3 PSI to 6 PSI.
My 77 360 in my D150 had the factory two barrel when I bought it. I had nothing but problems with it and when I rebuilt the 360 I installed a new aluminum intake and Holley 600, this turned out to be the decision I could’ve made.
