78 Dodge B200 Carb Issues
I recently purchased a 78 Dodge B200 Pickup with a 360 and Thermo-Quad 4bbl. My problem is when you give it gas at low rpms or speed it wants to die...If you slowly give it gas and get it up to 25 or 30 miles an hour it runs fine. I went looking for replacement parts or a rebuild kit and every site I find says the 360 model only came with a 2bbl carb. I know the vehicle was originally sold in Canada if that makes a difference. Anyways, any suggestions on what to check or what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

There is a 6 -2363 on the top of the carb but I don't see a number on the lower flange. I noticed this morning when I go to give it gas the vacuum falls off. I'm a total noob when comes to carbs. If you can give me a little more specific location detail Ill go look some more. Thanks for the response and help.

Okay, I climbed up there where I could see what is going on and the accelerator pump is not squirting any fuel...Is this something that requires a complete rebuild or can the accelerator pump just be replaced?
I only ask as I believe the complete rebuild is beyond my abilities. Also, if that is the case maybe you could point me to a good spot to buy a remanufactured one...Thanks Again

For the most part,If your already into the carb, You had might as well just go threw the carb at that point.
As for a new and rebuilds for those carbs. It's like finding a needle in a hay stack. You can find used ones. But you just dont know if there any good. Most of them out their are junk.
I would say, If you can find someone close to you that is a good rebuilder. Have them rebuild your old carb...

You discovered the big issue with the TQ carb. Accelerator pump is it. You must remove air horn or upper section of carb. At that point it is almost all apart so a rebuild makes sense. Yes 318 4 4bbl is California model. Carb number might be in 9185S range for 1978 truck.
