How many bolts, that is one of the quick ways of identifying it, which is a lesson I learned the hard way, because I ran the part number after I bought it and found out the seller was wrong. However I will never forget to count the bolts on the cover now.

The 9 bolt rear is the 7 1/4, 10 bolt rear is the 8 1/4, 12 bolt rear is the 9 1/4, also the 9 3/4 (Dana 60) has 10 bolts.

headers are a bitch to put in just so you know its not a 2 hour job unless you have helpers, a lift, air tools. take off the old exhaust,the tie rod and drag link, the starter, drain the coolant, the oil, remove the oil filter adapter, unbolt the left side of the motor jack it up wiggle everything in, swear a lot, get dirty, soaked, swear some more, then put everything back in. i dont have air tools and had to use cement blocks for a lift so it sucked. dont do it in the snow, sounds great in a fifth ave though. i think my headers were meant for your car. they wer 105 bucks from summit racing

The 8 3/4 is completely different then the others as it mounts from the front like the ford 9" rear.

Depends on the engine for headers, took 5 min max to put in my passenger's side, including putting the bolts in. The Driver's side is a different story maybe two hours to realize what needed to be done with sliding it in and out and messing with the starter and steering, but now I could probably put it together in 20 min now that the whole thing is modified the way it is. I didn't unmount anything but it was much easier to do up on the driveup ramps.

Oh ok, I am fortunate to only have to deal with the steering outside of the header and of course the starter.
