Summit 185 on 170 off thermostat kit

Is there another spot to put the temperature gauge fitting into besides the water pump housing? I am going to use that spot for the thermostat control for my electric fan. It is a Chrysler 383 B Block. Also I have a 180 degree thermostat and the kit is 185 on and 170 off will that be a problem or would I be better off getting this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g4959/overview/
for the fan to come on it is the adjustable fan control kit.

If you 'eff around' you might be able to find an aftermarket stat housing that has an additional fitting in the housing. The problem is, the higher you put the sender, then if you get a slow leak, such as overnight, then if the sender becomes "out of water" you might overheat without the gauge indicating. I would be tempted to try and find someplace to tap the housing.

It's been a long time since I fiddled with B/ RB engines, I thought that some years? had additional tappings down there where the temp / heater fittings were.

You run the 185 170 off or the dry one that goes on the radiator

The 7186 looks good but I want something that will give good power throughtout the rpm range which all of them claim. What do you think?

For and the street drivers..... Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holley 600 OR 650 OR 750 Fits the bill for me....
For the Performance builds... Edelbrock Super Victor Intake and the Holley 950
Or A Hogan intake manifold and a 1050 Or 1250 Dominator Fits the bill....
Just depends on what your building....

I have a question hooking it up. I want ti to run when the car gets to the temperature I set it at, can I run the positive from the fan to a wire on the starter relay, I put an inline fuse on the pos wire from the fan and I just want to make sure I put it in the right place.

The instructions are not very detailed, I did everything else besides the pos fan wire, the fan works when you hook it to the battery but I do not want it to constanly run, only when it gets to the temp I found the directions http://www.jegs.com/installationinst.../555-52125.pdf

I would use ignition hot with a keyed source.

No.... Those are hot all the time or only when the key is in the cranking position.

I ran the same setup in my Dart with an electric fan. I ran the ignition on (+12) to the positive of the relay. I ran a ground through the thermostat device back to the ground of the relay. I put the probe inside the return hose to sense the water temp. Set it for 180 degrees. A fused hot straight from the battery to the relay contacts to power the fan.

I have the ground set up and the probe directions say to have the pos from the thermostat to 12v source with a inline fuse. Onlyput it to the batt to see if I hooked everything else up right.

Might see if the Acc. Fuse is hot when the key is on... If so use it?

The tech from jegs said I could put it on the pos side of the coil and will turn on when the temp gets to where its supposed to.
