OK you cats are great. thanks. really it was trick Q. so i could say a computer or anything else giving you info. can only tell you what it is made to tell you. IE the computer cant tell you what sandwich you ate for lunch. a different thing i have been thinking about, "you cant prove a negative" IE if it didnt happen you cant prove it did. this is what the courts do to a person that didnt kill some one. now my last idea is not well thought out. just some ideas please dont take me to serous. dont wast to much of your time on it.

I was just joking... I was the guy that was the go to guy...If the car was a problem child it came to me...I was the problem solver of the shop and they paid me the big bucks...I remember a guy bought an Olds Aurora with the 4.0 Nourthstar engine and it only had 1000 miles on it ... The car would cut out/buck when driving at highway speed and sometimes it would cut out for a second or 2...Anyway I tore this car completely apart seats, dash, all the panels, engine wiring etc...Guess who walks in mister customer...The guy is a freak anyway...He sees his car all torn apart and runs out to the owner/dealer and wants a new car..So the boss man comes out to me and said what is going on??? I said it got an electrical problem...He then asked me are you going to be able to put this back together...Jokingly I said no..Then he freaked out..So I said absolutely he will never know it was apart...He Acted like he didnt believe me..I said Ill bet you $500 that it will be better then new...(I knew if I found the problem it would be better then new) I did find the problem it was a PCM ground inside the right kick panel that was left loose from the factory to the point of just hanging on the screw...Causing and intermitent power loss to the PCM...It took 2 days to put the car back together..The customer went over the car with a fine tooth comb and said you did a great job and gave me a $100 tip for being so thorough...The boss on the other hand didnt want to pay up and said you get a paycheck dont you?? I just said ok I see the way you are your not a man of your word...He did finally pay the bet and told me nice job....I actually enjoyed the problem solving job it gives you a sense of accomplishment....Right??? Bill

Kind of, yeah. My last work van told the dealer that none of the transmission info could be accessed, like the sensors and stuff didn't exist (oddly enough the transmission never gave me a problem).
