Clutch pressure plate swap?

Hello everyone, I suppose I'll get right into it. I own a 1988 Dodge w250 Power Ram. I rebuilt the motor about a year and a half ago and gave it a nice bit of power from its 160 hp starting point. It currently has (approximately) 465 hp and 750-800 ft lbs of torque. My current clutch pressure plate wont hold that and I'm getting alot of slip at about 1700 rpm to 2300 rpm. Once I pass that point I'm good... assuming I'm on flat ground... any kind of hill and the clutch slips. I cant tow anymore... so frustrating... I'm curious if I can just swap in a gen 1 diesel pressure plate as I know they where rated for about 500hp... I haven't been able to find any material online as to weather this is possible or not... nor can I just find a place that will sell me a pressure plate without having to buy an entire kit. My clutch friction plate is pretty new and buying another to get a pressure plate seems like a massive waste of money. Any help would be great. Thx.

The clutch friction plate as you call it is probably toast from slipping, don't bother trying to use it. Spent the money.

Welcome.

Is this turbocharged to make 750 torque? If it’s that much power I would seriously consider a sfi steel flywheel not cast.
