Good Afternoon Y'all....
Skwerly, No... Just hanging around the house. Grandkids are going to stop over for a visit. My Wife has a room she wants me to get some work done in, so i might be taking care of that. We will see.
I also have a buddy that has a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS that needs a Fuel Tank installed, I may have it over at the house to help him get that done, depending on weather. Nothing huge going on. Just eating and getting fat and some football....lol
I have a buddy's '50 Chrysler over here. We are supposed to start tinkering on it but I haven't felt real motivated lately. Merry Christmas eve, y'all!
Morning. Not back to work 'til Monday, going to work on the Viper front end metal frame support and tilt hinge now that the fiber glass is done.
I've been giving figurines called Images for 35 years to the Wife, they're no longer available. She is truly a girly girl that likes the pretty frilly things and knitting, I'm at home in carbon steel grindings and "knitting" steel together with my welders. I guess opposites do attract, married 36 years now. I tell her that if I killed her instead of marrying her, I'd be getting out of prison by now.
Good Evening Mopar friends,
Here we are.... TGIF... Hope you are all getting something done on your Mopars ??????? Please tell us we want to know what you are up too??????
AS for me, I am just out cruising the old war dog... Running good and burning up fuel....
Have a great weekend all... L8ER
Good Late Evening Y'all !!!!!
Sorry about not being around much. Work and Home have had me running like a wild man, and at the end of the day I just haven't mustard enough energy to make it to any of the site. Like my favorite one here !!
Hope you are all doing well with your Mopar projects? I have just been driving the **** out of my 1977 Dodge D150 (WARLOCK) 360 with a 727... Takes a licking and keeps on ticking....
Also been fighting a really bad cold I cant seem to get ride of.... Any of yall have any good home remidies to pass on ????? Should would like to hear what these are.... Head Cold, hurt all over, cough, and what not....
So tonight was hot soup and more cold meds....LOL
That's it for now.... What are you up too with your Mopar? Yep we want to know... Post it..... Mopar on Brothers and Sisters !!!!!.
My wife has the exact thing—i think it's a mild flu strain. When I get stuff like that I take fish mox, it's just amoxicillin you can get over the counter. And pseudophedrine, which you gotta ask for.
Not much going on with my Mopar project but it's going to happen soon, which pleases me.
Can't believe there's no snow here, this was to be a record low temp and high snow fall year. Probably no local riding (snowmobile) again.
If your from warm places and don't understand snowmobiling I'll try and explain. Go out at night when it's bitter cold (yes!), a clear full moon and go out in the bush to a high spot and turn everything off and just listen.....it's almost religious and divine. Go places and see things no one else can unless your on a snowmobile.
Good Morning Mopar Family !!!!
Hope you are all ready for the weekend ? What are you doing to your rides ??
Y'all can jump in and write here if you dont want to start your own topic..... This is Hogs B.S. Page.... Jump on in..... We are here to try to help.....
And If you got photos of your project.... Post them up.... Brand-X is ok with most of us here !!!!!
Good Morning Y'all....
Welcome to Wednesday !!!!!!!!!
See what happens when you go from CNG back to Gasoline !!!! Yep, You bend all the push rods.... Hahahahahahahahaha Took Us a week to figure out W.T.F
TBI'ed GMC Top Kick 6500 with a 427... Had me scratching my old head. But it's all fixed and on the road again....
What does changing fuel do to bend the rods? Are they all intake or exhaust? If its been on CNG since new, I imagine the engine is pretty clean inside.
Good Morning Y'all...
Well I will keep it simple.. You are rite on the CNG is Clean. It is a Gashish Fuel Type, Meaning it is not a liquid.
Now with that said. I want to point out, that i did mention it was a TBI (Throttle Bodied) Engine.. Keep that in mind..
We where getting ready to get rid of this truck in about a year or two. A part in the CNG System failed. (I wont get it to that detail to add confusion) So we had dicited to convert the truck from CNG back to gasoline so we could use the truck and then send it to auction running, so that we the sale would bring more money.
(Hope Y'all are still with me)
Now to answer your question: Being that CNG is a vapor gas. while the engine is running, oil still seeps past the valve guides and collect and carbons on the valves. (Some of us has seen that rite)
Now when you change the Fuel Product back to a Liquid. The valves start getting washed again and that gum / varnish gets hung up in the valve guilds and as soon as you let it sit over night a get cold. That varnish get hard as a rock and then when you try to start the engine (Bam) you bend all the intake. and what ever get enough vapor fuel on the exhaust side to lock up the valves in the valve guides.
Not that a lot of folks would be doing this type of work. Just something i thought I would throw up here as a brain twister and give some folks a little something to hash over for conversation.
Thanks for the question Five point,,,, Hope the fleet is good and the whole family? Mopar on Broth's... Cheers
Good explanation Bob. It was a brain twister. Short of pulling the heads off and cleaning the carbon, not much you could do to prevent that. Not much going on here. Winter has been kind of crappy. Not cold enough to freeze the lake over for ice fishing, not enough snow for sledding. The only thing good about it is the furnace isn't running the heat bill up. Just doing winter maintenance on the asphalt plant. Its my last winter. Going semi retire in November. I did put a complete exhaust system on the Plymouth. Got it from Accurate Exhaust.
