Lol. First tank average was 9 mpg. She did a lot of idle run time playing with all things in the uconnect screen. Got some great news for Colorado today. Hudson has approved Bandimere Speedway for a new track. https://www.9news.com/article/life/s...f-1233aae65d72
That is awesome news!!!
Will be great to have the Mile High back up and Racing
I only went to the old track one time with a friend who raced a big bracket race there, it’s a great way to knock a half second off your ET. lol
Im glad to see more tracks coming back, I know the Denver area has a big import turbo turnout…
Good Afternoon Mopar Family !!!!
Hope you are all doing well and your projects are ready for summer... Man it sure comes up fast nowadays !!!!
Not much to report on this end of town, Been working on a little Brand-X for a old friend. Just an electrical Gremlin !!! Driving me nuts, Got half of his old truck torn aparts, looking for the issue, but im hoping we will find the issue soon...
Oh and Happy Mothers Day to all of our MOM'S out here !!! We appreciate you !!!
Anyway, Hope you all have a great weekend..... Cheers
I’m doing yard work this weekend I’ve got three trees that need to come down so they dropped quite a bit of debris this last winter. I pulled two big branches back to my burn pile now I’m going to hook up my trailer and load it with the rest so I can at least mow the jungle. I’ll see how it goes…
oh yeah one of those limbs that fell down took out the power line to my shop and I’m still waiting for the electrician to come and make everything right again. That’s the closest thing I can get to working on the Mopar this weekend Bob… lol

I finally took the plunge and bought an electric mower last year. Works great for my little front yard. Have been using an electric chainsaw for several years since I had 120v outlet in the XJ for trail clearing. sounds like too much yard work to me. I actually stopped watering so I don't have to mow as much

Most all this electric gardening stuff lets me down all the time.... You cant hardly get gas powered equipment any longer here in So-CAL...
I have gone threw 2 string trimmers, 2 Blowers, 3 Edgers, of assorted brands of the electric stuff... Not sure how this makes less landfill or pollution... I'm calling Bull **** on the whole deal.... By the time they figure out how to make something last 40 years, the world will be one big giant landfill dump...
Well it never hurts to make plans, all I was able to do was get the large branch pulled around back to the burn pile, it’s been raining all weekend and it’s supposed to until Wednesday.
I would say congrats on getting out of the yard work but I know it just makes it worse next week. Believe it or not I have been using a cheap Harbor Freight electric chainsaw for about 5 years. It has outlasted one chain and the second has been sharpened enough that it is probably at end of life. It really has impressed me. We are following right behind California from all the transplants that move here and keep voting for the same crap they did there. So far it is only commercial companies that can not use gas but it is only time. They are also pushing to outlaw natural gas which will leave me unable to heat my home. Fortunately I can propane retrofit my furnace since I know what I am doing but when the typical DIY homeowners start doing it we are going to have houses blowing up. Of course they won't course correct, they will just outlaw propane too.
On another note, I have clearance to start climbing again with some restrictions. I won't make it until next weekend though due to my physical therapy being scheduled on my typical gym days this week. Overall I gained a little over 20 lbs but have managed to drop 18 of it back off. 20 more to go and I will be where I want. Bob, have you been staying up with your weight loss?

.... Man, We could sure use some more rain out this way..... The north get way more than we get down here..... But on the other hand, What do you expect for living in a desert?

Thats a big problem when these people leave here and go elsewhere... They stir up trouble.... One of the reasons my brother left Colorado " Colorado Springs", Way too many stupid new laws being brought in...
Wow, Why outlaw Natural Gas, Thats super cheap and clean to run / burn ???? What a dumb idea.
Good to hear you get to start climbing again, I bet your very happy to get the news !!!!
I Started a new weight program (AMBLE HEALTH), The other year long program that the Insurance had me doing did absolutely nothing for me in the way of loosing weight.
This new one seems to be working better.. I only started it two weeks ago, So stand by for an update.... Thanks for checking.... Cheers
Happy birthday Bob, there you milked another one out of me. lol

Thank You Sir..... Ya but i feel like i'm going on to 100..... If i Didn't hurt all over when i woke up, I would think I was dead !!!! lol
Happy belated birthday my friend! I feel the same way some days, I feel like I'm 20 years older than my age...
It's been busy around here lately, we're in full blown yard season and it's been raining its hiney off this month, we're about 2" above normal for May but still slightly below normal for the year. It's been hard on the cruisin' this month though.
Nothing to report on the track, there's been nothing going on now for about three months. Supposedly, IHRA is in some turmoil right now, big changes in the upper management, which may be at least partly why. At any rate, there's no way they'll be able to get it in any kind of race condition this year, I thought that was way too optimistic anyway.
I've decided to knock another item off my bucket list this year by cruising the full length of Route 66, from Illinois to Cali. I've wanted to do it for probably half my life now and with this being the 100th anniversary it's time. Besides, I ain't getting any younger. I joined a 66 group on facebook and have been making a list of places to stop in each state; so far I'm up to 78 stops. Arizona has the most so far at 18 although there are several places in and around LA I want to see also. My original idea was to drive the '36 the entire route, but with gas prices having gone into orbit I think I may do it in 2 phases; take the hotrod from IL to OK and then take my Durango the rest of the way. My plan is to do it in late August / early September. Who knows, maybe by then gas prices may drop a little. I just hope when I get out into canyons and mountains they'll have some trails made for broke down oldies with bad knees like me.
Y'all have a good weekend!
gas prices should drop a bit by then due to the winter blend...until you get to Cali. I compare preparation for gas in Cali like water in the desert, pack what you need.

I agree with Bob that’s quite the drive, I can’t remember how many miles it is but I hope you can resist the temptation to make miles and enjoy all your stops.
It sounds like a great trip.

Yeah, so far I've got 84 stops laid out between Chicago and LA. Gonna be around 5000 miles round trip, give or take, depending on how many deviations I make along the way. I'm guesstimating around 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. It's something I've wanted to do for 30 years or more so I figured why put it off 'till I'm too old to enjoy it. I'm not concerned about the little hotrod making it, that thing's been from the Florida gulf coast to Ohio so it's proven to be as dependable as a new car, just very thirsty - 13 mpg with a 15 gallon tank = lots of gas stops. WTH it's only money, right? Like the old saying goes, it's smiles per gallon not miles per gallon.
