of unknown parts

i had to put them on my site,

i was able to see that edlebrock had intakes with out these two components im thinking they may be for smog

but i wanted to be sure..

the question is do i need them?

The one on the driver side looks like an ERG valve and the other looks like an electric choke device (?). I would pull them off and cap those ports off.

I had something similar on my smallblock. Was/is it an A/C car. I removed mine totally, secured the wires and insulated them, and the other one was omitted when I changed the intake.

With the electric choke sure you know one wire may be hot make sure you cut that bad boy back so not to ground out.

Thanks for the input .. im planning on removing the extras..
and will pay close attention the the wires...

interistingly enough i had a problem adjusting my choke.

I would pull the manual choke stick out in my car adjust it on the carb go to push it in and it would feel all spongy not going in all the way.

maybe theres a kink in my choke line.

I read enough here on this forum about some not even using one.

i removed the cable stated the engine and just kept it idled a little high with my foot for about a minute and every thing was fine.

ill have to come back to the choke unless anyone has any advice.

EGR on drivers side I would cap off but it is nice to have a choke, so I would leave it alone
