Stupid rotor cap question

I have a 78 magnum with a 318. I've changed many distributor caps and every one of them just popped right off. The cap on my magnum is either stuck, or attached. Looking at the new one I don't see where it would attach somehow.

Is there something I'm missing or is it just stuck?

I am assuming you have the clips unclipped? if so its just stuck, usually a bump with the heel of the hand will unstick it...

I've seen some caps that seemed to "shrink on." I assume it is a problem with either quality control, or a reaction due to heat. In this day and age of reduced quality control..........

Sorry, reading back I seemed to have worded my question wrong. The cap is off but I can't get the rotor off. Sorry for the confusion.

Is this just supposed to pop off, or is there somethng I'm missing?

Thanks again

Same problem with rotors, I assume they change with heat

Well, that may be the case because I cracked it trying to pry it off and I don't see any fasteners that keep it on. It looks really old.

No fasteners, it's just stuck.
