Are these the right sealants??
Hey everyone, not sure this is the right forum but here it goes.
I'm replacing the rear main seal on my 2005 Jeep 4.0L In the service manual i have it says to use "Mopar Gasket Maker Sealer" on the bearing cap and "Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant" on the block and pan gaskets in certain areas. Then in a tutorial online it says to use "LockTite 518" which is an Anaerobic sealant on the bearing cap. They say this is called out for specifically in the service manual and you have to use this. Then High Temp RTV on the pan gasket. Well, I went to jeep to get the parts and just got the sealants at the same time to save a trip to somewhere else, and this is what they gave me. They told me this is what i needed and sent me on my way. They all but look the same to me, so i don't know which one to use in each spot or if they are even right.
Can anyone let me know if these are right and if so which one i need to use where.
Thanks

44B should be the Black Silicone
44D Should be the Gray Silicone
If i and not mistaken the 44D is suppose to be the same as the Permatex 518 Gasket Eliminator.
The way 518 works is, When you mate the surfaces and take the air away from the two sealed parts, the compound hardens. The sealant is good up to 0.015 gap sealing if I recall.
SO to me :
44B for the pan
44D for you rear main Retainer / seal
44D Should be the Gray Silicone

also, those are just suggestions lol. any sealant of the correct variety from any brand will work. of course they are gonna try to sell some mopar stuff but it's far from necessary.
