Ok I had a great day. Got the 440 running and car moves under own power. I have one problem though. It starts just fine and runs great at high idle. It also runs good with throttle. But when it's at low idle it will die. If u try starting it with throttle slightly depressed it will pop through the carb.

the screw in front drivers side was missing and i put one in off a spare carb i had but dont know what the setting needs to be. i am talking about the screw that have two of them one on each side for primary( name is slipping my mind)

What is my first step to diagnosing the problem. I am pretty sure all vacuum lines are plugged but I have not removed any of them. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks to me, from what I have resource for.... The....
9097 carb fits the 1976 400 Ci
9023 carb fits the 1974 440 Ci

Dont forget after you get it all cleaned out..... Blow out the fuel line and get any crap out of it that might have gotten past the filter.....
