Please help me figure this out, my 08 avenger will shift but I get a weird noise and it won't actually go into gear. Just recently changed the thermostat housing and sprayed off the spilt antifreeze. Then it wouldn't go into gear to move. Prior to that sometimes when I would pull up to park it would die. I could put it in P or N and it would crank back up and drive on. Now my remote start won't even work either.

 

My Guess is that you are having a transmission solenoid pack gone bad.... Or what is called a TCM ( Transmission Control Module ) malfunction.

 

Just changed that to a brand new one and cleaned all sensors and connectors. It's like a grinding roar noise and goes through gears but won't move
