torque conerter bolt problem

My 5/16 torque converter bolts keep backing out. I put lock washers on but now they are 1mm from the block. Should I take out the washer and use Loctite? Red or Blue?

Just a Heads up.... Those are not the correct hardwear.... Those bolts will give you issues forever....
Those bolts do not have the needed shoulder washer surface built into them....
But if your going to run them... Use the extra thin washer and put just a little loctite on them... Red, one drop...

OR replace with the correct bolts...

Good move on the correct bolts. I can't tell of course from the pic but make sure your block has the dowel pins (2) one on each side. The tranny relies heavily on them to keep it in place along with taking stress off those converter bolts. Often machine shops leave them out and the tranny moves slightly even though bolted down.

My Plymouth will shake any bolt loose. I have found Loctite to be a valuable and necessary part of my assembly process. I’ve used both red or blue on converter bolts, red on trans to motor bolts ,motor mounts and K frame bolts.

Shake rattle and roll…
