64 D200, V8-361 Clutch Slave Cylinder

Can anyone give me any details on replacing and correct bleeding procedures on the clutch slave cylinder. Mine went out, I replaced it with an OEM, and when Im bleeding I cant get air to come all the way out of the system, seems like it keeps sucking back in from somewhere. Also, the piston doesnt appear to move, at all. Have I connected something wrong? Anyone got a good document or youtube video on replacing the slave cylinder? Really drawin a blank

On a side note, randomly, the ignition doesnt seem to want to work, at all. I've replaced the battery, starter, and ignition switch itself. After the ignition switch, went a solid month before the problem came back.

Anything helps, any questions please ask Ill do my best to answer!

Make sure all the lines and or hoses are all in good shape>>>> Make sure you have the Clutch Master Cylinder rod adjusted for full travel>>>> You mite have to use a pressure bleeder? But You should be able t bleed it just like bleeding the brake system.
Good Luck... Keep us posted...

Complete and utter failure. Picked up a pull bleeder, just keeps pulling a mix of fluid and air, clutch peddle goes all the way to the floor and gets stuck and does not return unless you bump it with your foot/hand..

The Pedal Assembly should have a return spring attached to keep it from staying on the floor.
What is connecting the Slave to the Clutch Master Cylinder? is it a hose or a tube?

Hope this helps... Keep us posted...

Its a metal tube, probably 8 to 10 feet long with several loops in it. I picked up a syringe style vacuum thing that I tried yesterday and got my failure then retried again today, long slow process but seems to be working ish? Id like to get one of those pressure bleeders like shown in the video, but dont really wana spend 55 bucks on it. Might have to though, this is starting to drive me nuts.

Good news! Finally got the damned slave bled AND working correctly.

Bad news, started the truck and now oil is spewing from the topside, back, center of the engine... And I cant figure out where the heck its coming from since its slightly behind the firewall. I dont even know what would be sitting in that area.

I think the Oil Pressure Sender / Maybe yours has a manuel gauge line? is in the back of the engine... Use a small Mirror and a flash light and see if you can see whats up back behind there... Use you cell phone camera if you can !!
Like we say.... 1 step forward and 2 steps back !!!

Yup, its the oil pressure gauge line, discovered it yesterday, just thought the tube was lose, nope.. the rubber tube and center plastic tube inside was broken........ Im really, really not wanting to have to pull that whole line, its tarred into the firewall, which Im pretty certain Id have to replace that as well. Im thinking I might just get a plug and plug it..... Thoughts?

Well after a lot of grunting, snarling and fighting, my nephew and I were finally able to replace line, we're not sure how things were going wrong in some cases, but we managed to do it. No more leaks, clutch working great, although peddle kind of short now but thats ok I dont like a long clutch anyway, and seems to run mostly smooth. I want to give a big thank you to you Bob, that was my dads name btw, for all your assistance and being the only one to respond in the thread, kept me going.

Thanks again so much.
