Bob how are you keeping yourself busy now that you’re retired?

 

I'm not real sure how to keep this short but sweet?
August 18 I will have been retired a full year.... Time flys !!!
As for the question, I retired to take care of my extremely sick wife here at home. I no longer have any racing and or side work jobs. I just spend time with my sick wife and do whatever is necessary to keep her comfortable throughout her days. I would say the answer to that question is.... I am a full time 27/7 caregiver for her.
Lots of Doctor appointments, Lots of Medications, and lots of pain and suffering that is almost unbearable to watch and listen too !!!!
Not really what I signed up for.... But it is what it is..... Until Death do us part !!!!!

All I can say is..... Always hug the ones you love and tell them you love them and never stop fighting the good fight.

Hope that answers the question? I apologize for being blunt.... But that's it in a nutshell... We will see what the future brings... I got lots of race family and family and Friends praying for us...

Bob maybe you should have a nurse come over for a day and then you go to an event or hang with your buddies, just do something you would like to do. Talking to a therapist that specializes with people who do dependent care would help. My sister took care of my mom for a couple of years and she was a little wacky by the time she was done. I know that there are resources a social worker can tap into for help also.

 

Good advise… We will look into that..

I hope Iowans been out in the shop working on his projects.....

 

I have been enjoying my new ride and not turning wrenches. Tried to get to the divide a couple weeks ago but too much snow still. Been pretty warm last couple weeks so I would assume trail should be passable soon. Pictures from the top around 14,000 ft elevation are so much better but I got these.

 

Them Colorado Mountains sure look beautiful....

S.O.S. "Suck On Stupid"

 

Apparently it doesn’t suck very long, on the fifth of July I had to be the grow in up and get after my neighbors. To much tequila had him shooting large bottle rockets at everyone. I finally told him in a voice loud enough to hear throughout the neighborhood that if he didn’t stop, I would scatter his family with my fireworks and I had no small fireworks left,
He was done!

Hope everyone is doing well and surviving the heat of summer. Weather has made climbing outside difficult but also having issues just getting there. Jeep has been a nightmare and having serious buyers remorse. Check engine light came on at 600 miles. Common electrical issue solved by properly seating fuses and relays. Check engine light at 1100 miles, failed bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. Check engine light returned at 1200 miles, Bank 2 Sensor 2 O2 sensor bad. 3 issues and not even halfway to first oil change. Hopefully getting Jeep back from dealer in next couple days. Hoping this is the end of it but I have a feeling I will be back soon enough for the other 2 sensors. Really miss the reliability of the XJ.

 

XAZA.... Wow.... Didn't you just by a new Jeep back in February ? Man Sorry to hear you have already had to have it back too the Dealer so many times...
I hate to say this but two more times and it would be time for use to have a talk about swapping the it out for a better built Jeep, maybe built on Monday...
But your doing it rite, finding out right away if its going to be a good truck or not.... Put it through the paices and have the dealer deals with them.... Hope they are giving you a vehicle to drive while yours is being fixed?
