They can't exactly trade me out for one on the lot because of the additional options I selected on vehicle just will not be on a lot. That was why I had to order it custom built to begin with. I am very particular to a few things, lol.
According to the dealer service writer there is a known issue about the O2 sensors. They said there is not a superseded part number for the sensor so they have not gone as far changing vendor. This time around I did contact Jeep Wave. They created a claim and gave me a representative to work with dealer. I believe they are with Stellantis. With the claim they are reimbursing the cost of rental car. They told me when I dropped it off, might be 1-2 weeks to get Jeep back. That attitude apparently changed when rep got involved as Jeep was done in 3 days. The rental car ended up not even being used. Drove it home from rental and then drove it back. 6 mile rental, lol.

I haven’t bought a new vehicle in years but I have had probably 20 or so in my lifetime..
what I have found is that most of the time it’s not the vehicles fault that there's problems that can’t get resolved but the dealer service department. Now every service department has it’s share of decent mechanics and one or two new guys fresh from trade school or even high school so you don’t know what you’re going to get for talent working on your new ride.

As an example back in 1990 I bought a new Dodge Dakota short box 4x4 v6 optioned up nice, I don’t remember what the sticker price was but I paid $12,000 , I thought it was a good deal at the time, It was the first new shop truck I ever bought. Well after I took delivery problems started showing up like AC not cooling every time you turned it on, cruze control not working ( they had the truck 7 times for this alone) a loud squawking noise coming from the transmission to crossmember mount. Dodge just flat couldn’t fix this so I made a nylon shim that went between the transmission mount and the cross member and that took care of it.

Over all I believe my experience with the Dakota were completely on the dealership, it was a frustrating experience that last as long as I owned the truck because less than a year after buying it I traded for a new Ford.

You are very correct.... The Dealership Service Department is only as good as the Tech that they have hired...
I have as of lately had 2 different Dealers reach out to me and ask if I know of anyone good that they would consider hiring...
Local Ford Dealership is looking for 1- Diesel Tech, 2- Transmission Tech's, and 1- General Line Tech,
Local GM Dealership is looking for 1- Diesel Tech, 2- General Line Tech's,
Local Equipment Service Department, 1- Equipment repair Tech, Backhoes, Skid Steers, Escuvators, and so on for repairs..
Hard to find good folks that can hit the road running..

It’s been my impression that parking old vehicles is just what California wants you to do. You’re not supposed to be driving a 47 year old truck go spend a100K on a new one.

That is horrible Bob. We been enjoying many days in the 80s with a few low 90s dabbled in for the last couple weeks. Real bummer about the stupid laws you are having to deal with.
As was expected I made it 300 miles and another O2 sensor issue, Bank 1 sensor 2 this time. Guess they should have listened last time when I asked to replace all the factory installed O2 sensors. Taking it in on Tuesday again, missing work and waiting on vehicle. Trying to get in touch with service manager to get approval to replace both sensors and have them ordered and waiting for me. This repair does satisfy the 3 strike rule for it to qualify for lemon laws here in Colorado. If it happens again I will qualify and might very well take action. Other than that I do love the Jeep but this is quite ludicrous.

XAZA,
Good Morning, Looks like we will be back down in normal range for temperature near the middle of the week... Sounds like nice weather there in Colorado !!!!
Sorry to hear you are still dealing with issues with the new to you Jeep.... That really sucks... But hope you get it resolved soon....
I'm having a hard time believing that all those sensors have failed... I beginning to think it is a PCM Problem, or if the are truly failing, it must be because of a different faulty sensor giving a ba input.
Whatever the case, I hope they make good on it for you.... Losing time off work is not a good thing! Hope you can put in for reimbursement on that as well..
Anyways keep us posted on the what they find. Always interested. Enjoy the rest of your summer.... Cheers

Thinking back over the past thirty five years I can only think of one of my vehicles or any Ive been involved with that had an issue with O2 sensors. And that was on a truck pulling a large boat up the bluffs along the Mississippi. I suppose Jeep could’ve gotten a box full of duds, but I too think there’s something else going on.

Dealership is working with me and agree that it's possible there was a bad batch of O2 sensors since the code keeps changing sensor position. They also are concerned of something else causing it such as a clogged cat. They are going to provide me a loaner car while they dig into it a little further. I took my concerns to the store manager and he is now involved in getting this made right. Until getting him involved they kept telling me a loaner wasn't available. We will see and I will let you know what we find.

Good Morning,
Good to hear your going to get a loaner car for now...
Chasing 02 Sensor positions... And a possible bad Cat.... That sounds to me like what we use to call, Cat threshold not met, and required 02's, Cat's and PCM recalibration.
Hope to hear you got good news soon...

Iowan, We had a lot of 02 issues back in the day with those Dakota 3.9 V-6's.... Seem to have a lot of 02 codes because of all them flat cams....
