86 dodge w 150 just bought timing way off but while starting brake lines are getting hit like burn hand hot?? Frame pulling 5.76 v on ohm so confused can't seem to find wire exposed any ideas.. Sounds like dead battery with new batt and jumped ideas
Set the time around 10* BTDC.....
Not sure what your asking with the brake lines getting hot?
Hook a test light in between the battery + and the Battery Cable... Start pulling fuses and disconnecting connectors till the light goes off and then you will know what circuit to chase for the short. (In Most Cases)
Always have a good battery fully charged when testing. Is all I can say on that one....
Good Luck.. Let us know what you find...

I agree it is pulling ground through the brake lines or something is hitting the brake line while cranking.. Like a wire is rubbing on the lines that is powered while cranking. Check the battery cables and make sure they have good connections..Bill
You have a short to ground which is why you have a dead battery. Like the others said, pull fuses till it stops and look around to see what you can see for exposed wires rubbing somewhere. It doesn't have to be against the brake lines, could just be they have the highest resistance which is causing them to create heat.
Make sure to unplug the battery, then check resistance to ground from the positive cable.
