Hey Bob
Hows the wife doing? Seems you’ve had your hands full at times but haven’t heard much for awhile.

Good Morning, Thanks for asking... She is doing the best she can. But she requires a lot of tending too from me... That's a tough deal for me simply because i'm not one for sitting around the house.
Now that we are done with surgerys for the moment. (7 was a little much).. Things have settled down some. But she still has a bunch of issue, however she is still able to get around under her own power.
She is always pissed of, but i guess that is to be expected? Not sure why someone gets dealt such a crappy pair of cards in life? but we do one day at a time..

Our local dragstrip cloesed down at the end of 2024 and the next closest track is 2-1/2 hour drive away... So that relief is out for me.... So on a good note, The Wife Unit is doing somewhat OK, and i am happy for that.
But Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, nerve seizures, and nerve damage, degeneration of bone in the back is a tough gig..

Stay well and take better care of yourself folks !!!!!! Be Blessed and be good to your neighbors.

Sorry to hear it is so rough right now Bob. Certainly not what you all had planned for retirement. My wife and I have been planning our retirement and I have been worrying about this type of scenario. Particularly after my wife was diagnosed with cancer at 40. Hear it a lot where people try to wait until they are retired to do a lot of things in life and when the day finally comes they can't. Our thoughts are with you and your wife.

We got out 4th of July weekend for some camping and climbing. First time towing the trailer with the Jeep and was impressed to get about 16 mpg towing over the mountain passes...better than I get in town without the trailer. Got a bit of hail one day.

How is the tent trailer working out? Is it holding up ? or still work in process?
Anymore issues with the Jeep and the sensor problems? or do you think the dealer finally fixed the issue?

Tent trailer is working out great but still a work in progress. We want to add some additional storage boxes For a little more cargo space. Also looking to get it coated in truck bed liner. The welding of the rails on the top left some bare metal underneath that is causing some rust to form under rails which runs out in the rain. Hoping liner will be thicker and seal gap to prevent moisture from getting under rails. Jeep is doing good and the 3rd O2 sensor seems to have fixed the issues. Still don't drive it much but 1500 miles since last repair. 17 months old and just got it over 3k miles on that trip.

Good Morning Mopar Family !!!!!
Hope you are all doing well and your projects have been making good progress or you have been out having fun showing them off if you have had good weather?

Not much going on around RacerHogs place.... After retiring two years ago, I have just kind of been on easy street and not doing much.... I have got one brand-X engine project pending that needs finishing but the customer got put out of work and so the project build is on hold... Kind of sad about that. But it is what it is...

Welcome to all you new Folks !!! Good to have you here!! Hello to all you lurking outside...

If you have any questions or Just Some B.S. and dont want to start your own thread? feel free to post it up here and lets talk about it....

I check in a couple times a week, Thats only because the older I get the Slower I Go..... LOL

Yalls have a great day.... And Remember, If I can do it, you can do it...

Now get out and get them rides moving... !!!!!

Cheers

Afternoon all, been out of pocket for a while. Been hot as the gates of Hades the last couple of months, finally got a cooldown a couple of weeks ago but the heats back this week, looking at potential records a couple of days. Dry as Elwood Blues' toast too, we're in severe drought conditions now; we've had less than 2" of rain in the last 2 months. Thanks to the heat the cruising has been pretty slow, but with the cooldown a couple of weeks ago I went to the biggest Cars & Coffee event that we've had, must have been 200 - 225. That's a huge showing for Memphis in August for a two hour event. Mopars are still scarce though...

Hey, got the burned up wiring all fixed back in the spring but it got so hot so fast that repainting the firewall got put on hold. Ol' thang runs like a stripe @$$ed ape though! Went today and got a shot in my knee to hopefully tide me over through the holidays; 40 years of climbing ladders plus kneeling on concrete, steel grating, rocks etc has pretty much totaled my right knee so I get to get a new one next year. If I knew then what I know now, right?

I have a feeling that there are quite a few of us that have thought about if we had only known then what we know now….

I don’t know if I have ever asked you what color is on your car but I’d like to know.

Hey, it's a Centari color called Spectramaster blue made by DuPont. It's a neat color in that it changes shade as the light changes; in bright light it looks similar to Grabber Blue but it darkens with lower light.

Yessiree, I think I might have even invented a couple of new words! Gonna be a busy next few months, headed to a big rod run across the river next weekend, then I'm off on a Bahamas cruise in October, then in November we have the Rodders Reunion coming up; that's a real nice night time event that honors the Memphis Rodders, one of the oldest rodding clubs in the area dating back to I think 1947. NHRA pioneer Ray Godman was one of the original members, and at last years event we had local boy and my cousin Mr. Four Speed Herb McCandless and also Clay Millican. One of Jungle Jim's restored funny cars was on display, a really cool event / BBQ dinner. I'm pretty sure this year they'll have a display to memorialize George Poteet. That's when I had my engine fire last year, I was getting the car ready to go and poof. Not this year, we gonna be there with bells on.

Hello Mopar family!!!
Hope y’all’s are doing well ?
I have been out of town Visiting family in the beautiful State of Tennessee up north of Memphis “ Just a stones throw away from Moparod”
weather has been really nice for us..
I haven’t been back home here since I left when I was 6 years old..
But it sure gives me a good feeling to be back in the old home State running elbows with the good old locals..

I sure have found lots of projects I could pick up if I lived here to keep me busy … Would be nice to just drag up stakes from California and come back here, but I got to many irons in the fire at the moment…
So momma and I will be heading back to So-Cal on Wednesday and then I can start sulking!!!! Lol

well let’s see if I can make this a short story!! Lol
mom was from west Memphis Arkansas.. Dad was from Mississippi..
my grandparents and family all moved to Memphis in the early days before me.
grandparents on my moms side moved in 1950-1955 to Pasadena California “Home of the Rose Parade “

While the family lived in Memphis, My mother really missed her family and would frequently just up and drive to California with my older siblings..
Dad would have to take off work for a week or so and drive out to fetch the family and bring them back to Tennessee and then go back to work..

Somewhere in there I was born..
Dad finally gave in after numerous years of traveling trips back and forth and sold everything and Made the move to California.. Leaving all his side of the family in Memphis Tennessee..

I haven’t been back here in a long time.. I do still have cousins here..

Hope the story kind of makes sense???

It’s funny how people move around and where they end up. I have two siblings and we all ended up ten miles from each other, one lives in the house my grandparents built in the thirties..

Hey Bob, hope you had the chance last week to go to the Friday night cruise-in at El Toro Taco in Millington, it's a pretty Mopar heavy cruise. I have a lot of friends in Atoka and Brighton. How about that cold front that came through last week that brough highs from the upper 80's to low 60's? Betcha don't get that in SoCal too often!
