It’s a little different here using the leaves are on the ground by now but not this year. I usually mulch them all up on the yard while the neighbors, all bag them up or Burn them. I hope they all drop soon so we can deal with them, they’re no fun in the spring.

Yeah man, let me know next time you're in town, maybe we can grab a bite. Glad you enjoyed yourself. Where in Mississippi do your folks hail from? My mom's family is from all over northern Miss, basically from Clarksdale to Grenada and all points in between.. It's about to turn big time cold here, lows into the 20's by Sunday night, I just installed my faucet covers to get ready.
My cruise last month was awesome, what could be better than the Bahamas! Only had one day of rain, which blew itself out by early afternoon. The cortisone shot I got in my knee definitely helped, I don't think I could have made it otherwise. The Durango did great, got a whopping 31 mpg with the cruise set at 75.
The Rodders Reunion is coming up in a couple of weeks, I'm looking forward to that. This year they're honoring the memory of George Poteet. Hopefully the weather will behave and I can take the '36; I was just about to start getting it ready last year when I had the engine fire.

Some of my friends up in Canada were saying the same thing !!!!

Happy Veterans Day !!!!!! Thank You for your service.... Cheers
Even though it's a week late I hope all of the Veterans had a wonderful day. Here's a throwback memory of mine from the Memphis Veterans Day parade in 2001. Me in my Memphis Belle Memorial Association days driving our 1942 Dodge WC51 with a full load of our WW2 veteran docents. All of those heroes are gone now but will never be forgotten. Being with the MBMA was one of the proudest things I've ever done...
Wanted to wish all of our Mopar family a Happy Thanksgiving !!!!!!
Let's be thankful and kind to others and family....
Hope you all have something to be thankful for?
Wishing you all the best of Blessing from our home to yours.... Cheers
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Lawdymercy, I'm missing summer right now. We're about 20° below December's normal mid 50's; it's sleeting right now, we don't normally get anything frozen until mid-late January.
I went to the Memphis Rodders Reunion on the 20th and had a great time, I'm guessing there were probably 300 or so people there warming up the building on a chilly rainy night. There were a few local racing legends there including Larry Nolan, super stocker Herb McCandless and Larry Reyes of the Super Duster and Hawaiian funny cars fame. Seems like there are fewer each year though...
There have been some promising rumors about our closed Memphis International Raceway; apparently the IHRA is planning to reopen it next year and even have events tentatively scheduled for both the dragstrip and the oval. I think next year may be optimistic given the current condition of the facility; when it closed a few years ago they sold everything that wasn't bolted down, and some that was including the grandstands. All that's left is the racing surfaces, which will need to be resurfaced, and the buildings which all need to be completely overhauled since they've been vandalized. But still I'm hopeful...
Wow, I guess we left just in time to miss the coldness that moved in!!!! WE had a good Thanksgiving.
That would be great if IHRA opened the track. They have some good programs and cool Outlaw stuff as well.
Keep us posted on what you hear...

Holy Hannah it's cold, we never got out of the 20's today, a solid 30 degrees below normal. At least it was pretty today...
Can't speak for '55 through Arkansas, seems like there's always something going on there. But FYI, the 55 bridge across the river is about to be replaced starting next year, but it's easy to cross the I40 bridge at West Memphis; 55 and 40 intersect in WM. Plus 40 is closer to the track so there's that. Kinda hate to see the 55 bridge come down, it's sort of famous as the bridge that "The Driver" and "The Mechanic" crossed in their '55 Chevy in Two Lane Blacktop on their way to the old Lakeland International Raceway just east of Memphis but the new bridge already has a name, it's going to be called King's Crossing, after Elvis and BB King.
The track reopening has been all anybody's been talking about for a week, everybody's hoping it may open earlier than next fall for test & tune sessions at least.

It's plumb miserable, we've got about 3-4" of sleet on top of snow and are expecting more sleet and freezing rain over the next 24ish hours. We're going to be below freezing for at least the next week; our normal for this time of year is 52. If somebody can think of a single good thing about winter, I'd love to hear it...
Well the snow / sleet / freezing rain has mostly run its course, just a light flurry from time to time. Bad as I've seen it in a long time; yesterday Memphis International Airport even shut down, haven't heard if they've reopened today. As bad as we got it northern Mississippi got slammed hard by ice. Lafayette county (Oxford, where Ole Miss is), an hour south of Memphis, has a mandatory shelter in place order with 80% of power out from lines down, and two counties in North Miss are 100% off grid with a TVA primary line down from ice. This one's going to take a long time to come back from, nothing above freezing for the next 7-10 days. Oxford, MS this morning. We got hit like this in 1994. Yesterday in Bartlett, my neighborhood is on the right side of the picture.
Yeah I wouldn’t wish that weather on anyone, Iowa was in the map for the storm off and on for the last week but lm not sure if the state saw any of it. I’m only twenty miles from the Minnesota border so I didn’t see a thing.
